Andy Weir’s brilliant novel, The Martian, was first published on his blog. Beatrix Potter gave out copies of Peter Rabbit to her friends to entertain their kids. James Redfield sold copies of The Celestine Prophecy out of the trunk of his car. Even Frank Herbert’s Dune started off in a tiny science fiction magazine before it was first published by a company that put out auto-repair manuals.
Some of the best new fiction out there, particularly science fiction, does not end up on bookstore shelves. If you want to find the good stuff, you have to go to the source.
Here are a couple of good sites to check out:
chaosstudio7.com has some brilliant science fiction stories, art, photography, and anime.
arsscriptae.wordpress.com has links to Lisa Cooper’s novel, THE GRAVITY KEY, fan fiction, and short stories.
If anyone has a friend who would like to post links to their blogs or some of their works on Circumspice Literary, please respond or email to info@circumspiceliterary.com.
