EVERVINE, Chapter 4, Vincere

I myself have read the writings and teachings of the heretics, polluting my soul for a while with their abominable notions, though deriving this benefit: I was able to refute them myself and loathe them even more.

Ashley did her final checks in the monitor before the taping began.  She was trying to focus, but her thoughts kept bounding from subject to subject.  As she looked at the image of herself on the screen, she decided that she really liked the new lighting director’s work.  His predecessor made her skin tone look harsh, almost red.  Worse than that, he made it look like she had a double chin.  That transgression was unacceptable, but things were back on point now.

In addition to vastly better lighting, the new color Stephon used today was brilliant.  She told herself that she looked five years younger.  Stephon always had his finger on the pulse of tasteful trends and taking her hair subtly more blond for late spring was a great way to segue into the summer where she would gradually increase the amount of blond in her hair.

The new wardrobe assistant on the other hand was a problem.  Not that she did not love this blouse, indeed it was perfect for her.  Ashley knew her tits were spectacular in it.  The top allowed a little bit of sag to show they were real, but kept a good overall shape without too much tacky decolletage.  Yet, the fact remains, that it was supposed to be paired with the new pencil skirt for her Coffee with Ashley couch set tomorrow morning.  That was the clear and established plan, but here she was wearing it right now.  Of course, it was under a desk and no one could see it, but for all she knew some spy might be lurking among the crew just waiting for the chance to catch her doing something like wearing the same clothes two days in a row.  Such sloppiness was unacceptable.
